Where are your shoes made?

We're proud to make our shoes in our family's small factory located in rural Pennsylvania. The factory has been in operation since 1888, and our family has owned it since the early 1960s. You can get a peek behind the scenes and learn more on our blog.


When will my order arrive?

We're not a quick ship company. Each pair of shoes is made to order, and our turn around time is about 14 business days, often less. When you place an order with us, your shoes will go into production the next business day. On average, there are about 126 steps that go into making a pair of our shoes, and we oversee each step of the process closely, from cutting the leather to stitching the uppers, to lasting and soling. Our shoes are not mass-produced, and we love being hands-on in the process.


Do your shoes run small or big?

Generally, our shoes run a bit big. An average one year old wears our size 4. Because we  make each pair to order and do not ship from stock, it's important for our customers to size their child correctly. Please read our sizing page carefully and measure your child's foot while he or she is standing before ordering. 

On our Milo Boot, we can offer a wider width, which is helpful for pudgy little insteps.

What materials do you use to make your shoes?

We believe that little feet need natural materials in order to breathe, so we only use leather for our uppers. With the exception of our crib boot which has no lining, all of our shoes have linings made of leather and/or cotton. All of our materials are sourced in America.

If I want a color that's not pictured on your website, will you do a custom order?

Sometimes we can accommodate customized orders. We love to do them when we can! Email Audrey - audrey@zimmermanshoes.com if you would like a custom pair of shoes. Please understand that all custom orders are final sale and are subject to a customization fee.
