The transition from summer to fall is always bittersweet but beautiful. There's a couple spots where I always look for it first: the big Ash tree that always turns earliest, the way the light shifts and makes shadows longer, the non-stop buzz of cicadas. Every year, these autumn markers are both comforting and exciting.
